The Testy pill in the top navigation opens Testy Coach, his own page. It opens with a greeting and a box reading Ask Testy anything. Whatever is typed there starts a conversation and is saved.
The tiles
- New conversation starts a fresh thread.
- Mental maths opens the quick sums drills, see Mental maths with Testy.
- WritingHub Gym opens the writing skills, see Practising writing in the WritingHub Gym.
- Vocabulary opens TypingHub's Expand Vocabulary, the structured course through a vocabulary list, see Expand Vocabulary. Testy no longer has a vocabulary practice of his own, and the tile only shows for accounts that can use Expand Vocabulary.
- Your progress opens the progress screen.
Next up and Quick start
Next up shows the open items from the study plan, each with a Go button, or Start with Testy where Testy can teach it directly. Quick start offers skills worth a go right now, and each one can be put aside.
Your conversations
The five most recent conversations are listed, newest first, and Show all lists the rest, twenty at a time. Each conversation gets a title from its first message straight away, and Testy swaps in a better one once he has the gist of it. Finish puts one away when it is done with.
A conversation with no activity for a week finishes by itself. Finished conversations sit in a folded section called Earlier and open read only: everything said is still there, but nothing new can be added. Press Continue in a new chat and Testy starts a fresh conversation that remembers what the old one was about.
Your progress
The progress screen holds, in order:
- Mental maths: for each kind of drill, the sessions done, accuracy and best times, plus the daily challenge streak and a small chart of the last drills.
- WritingHub Gym: the stars earned on each skill, grouped by strand.
- Questions answered, by subject. It appears once enough of the student's questions can be sorted into subjects, and anything that cannot goes into Other.
- Your plan, the same plan as on the dashboard.
- What Testy knows about you, the notes he has kept, each of which can be removed with Forget.
How much of Testy's allowance has been used is shown by the usage chip at the top right of the page, see How much Testy you get.
If the page is not there
Younger students and accounts without tutor access are sent back to the dashboard, where the Testy dock still works. Year level on the profile is the usual reason, and support can check it.
