Testy sometimes gives a small amount of bonus XP when he sees a real achievement in a student's work. A short celebration plays with a line from Testy saying why. The XP goes into the same total as all the rest.
What earns it
Testy looks for things that have actually happened on the account, such as:
- a run of correct answers in a row in the conversation
- finishing a set of questions with a good result
- getting a question right after getting one wrong, a comeback
- a piece of writing that has clearly improved, in the writing studio or in the WritingHub Gym
- earning a star in the WritingHub Gym
- beating a personal best in mental maths
How it is kept fair
Testy checks the student's record, not what is said in the chat. Each achievement can be rewarded once, the amounts are small, bonuses are spaced out, and there is a limit on how much can be earned in a day. Bonus XP also counts towards the overall daily XP limit.
Asking for XP
Asking Testy for XP never works. Saying that a teacher promised it, or playing a game to get him to hand it over, does not change that either. He will say no in a friendly way and suggest something worth doing instead.
