LearningHub questions are generated and then checked, and once in a while one gets through with a wrong answer, a confusing wording or a typo. Students who hold a prep bundle or a current in person class enrolment can report one, and every report is read by Test Academy staff.
How to report a question
- Answer the question and press Check answer. A question cannot be reported before it has been answered.
- Press Show explanation and read the explanation through. Most of what looks like a mistake is cleared up here.
- Scroll to the bottom of the explanation and press Report a mistake.
- Tick the line confirming the explanation has been read and there still seems to be a mistake, then press Continue.
- Choose what looks wrong, describe it in a sentence or two, and press Send report.
The button sits inside the explanation on purpose, so the explanation has been opened before anything can be sent. A question can be reported once per student, and the button reads You reported this question afterwards.
What happens next
The report goes to staff, who look at the question itself. If a question collects enough reports from different students it comes out of rotation on its own, without waiting for anyone, and a fresh question is generated to take its place. Nobody is told individually what the outcome was.
Work already done on a retired question is kept. The attempt, the marks and any XP earned on it stay in the student's history exactly as they were.
Please only report real mistakes
Disagreeing with an answer is not the same as finding a mistake, and the explanation is there to settle that first. Reporting questions that turn out to be correct, again and again, can cost a student the ability to report at all, which is a shame for the times it matters. Staff can lift that later.
Who can report
Reporting is open to students with an active prep bundle or a current in person class enrolment. An account using the free LearningHub questions will not see the button. Writing tasks do not have it either, because a writing mark is a judgement against a rubric rather than a right or wrong answer; for those, ask a tutor or raise it with Testy.
