Testy is the AI coach built into Test Academy. He knows the student's own work, the platform and the exams, and he lives in two places that do two different jobs.
The dock, in the corner of a page
On most pages a round Testy button sits in the bottom right corner. Tap it and a small panel opens on top of the page. This Testy is a companion: he knows which page the student is on and answers questions about it, about homework, about what to do next and about how anything on the site works. On the dashboard and the classroom home he is opened from the Ask Testy button on his card instead, and the panel fills the screen.
Testy's own page
The Testy pill in the top navigation opens his own page. This Testy is a tutor. He teaches through questions he writes for the student, diagrams he draws, mental maths drills, vocabulary practice and a writing studio that marks a whole piece and pins notes beside the lines they are about.
What Testy will not do
- He will not hand over an answer to a test that has not been marked.
- He cannot change a mark, a booking or a payment. When something needs a person he passes it to the Test Academy team.
- He is an AI and he can be wrong, which every screen says underneath the message box. Important answers are worth checking.
Who has which one
The dock is available to students throughout the site. Testy's own page is for Year 3 to Year 6 accounts and for the OC, Selective and NAPLAN streams. A younger student has the dock only, and it stays free for them.
