An online session has two parts open side by side: a video call with the tutor, and a live page the tutor fills with the material for that session. Both open from the next session card on the 1-on-1 Tutoring page.
Joining the call
The video call link appears on the next session card from fifteen minutes before the session is due to start. Before that, the card shows that the link will appear shortly before start time rather than a broken or missing button.
The live page
During the session the tutor pushes material to the live page as they go: worksheet pages, questions the student answers on screen, and a shared whiteboard the tutor and student can both write on. Whatever the tutor pushes is saved, so nothing shown in the session is lost afterwards. See Your session record for how to look back over it.
Getting ready
A quiet spot with a working microphone and, ideally, a second screen or a tablet alongside the call makes it easiest to follow both the tutor and the live page at once. A single device still works: the student can switch between the call and the live page as needed.
