1-on-1 Private Tutoring pairs a student with one tutor for a session built entirely around them, in person at Parramatta or online. It is open to every verified Test Academy account, and sits alongside term classes and online practice rather than replacing them.
Who it suits
Opportunity Class and Selective students are matched with specialist tutors for that test. Every other year level, including NAPLAN preparation, is matched with general tutors. The match is set automatically from the student's year level and stream, so the tutor list a family sees already fits them.
Booking and paying
A session is one to three hours in one continuous block, booked and paid for by card at checkout before it is confirmed. There is no membership and no credit pack: each booking is its own payment. See Booking a tutoring session and How tutoring sessions are priced.
Before, during and after a session
Before the session, the family sets what the tutor should focus on. During it, the tutor runs a live page with worksheets, questions and a whiteboard, which the student can follow along with on their own screen, online or in person. Afterwards, the tutor leaves feedback and the session is saved as a record the family can read back at any time.
If something goes wrong
A session cannot be cancelled, but it can be moved to another time with the same tutor while there is still enough notice. If a family needs a tutor swapped, an extra reschedule outside the usual notice, or a refund, that is a staff decision: contact the team through the contact page.
