Booking a tutor runs over three steps on that tutor's own page: When, Focus, then Pay. Nothing is held or charged until the Pay step succeeds.
Step 1: When
Choose a mode from the ones that tutor offers (in person at Parramatta or online), then how many hours, from one up to three in a single continuous block. The calendar shows the next two weeks of that tutor's open times; a slot only appears when the tutor is actually free for every hour of the booking. Add another session repeats the picker to book more than one session with the same tutor in the one checkout, each priced as it is added.
The earliest bookable time and the latest date a family can book into are both shown on the calendar: bookings need a short lead time, and cannot be made further out than the end of the term currently open for booking.
Step 2: Focus
Set what the tutor should work on before paying. See Setting your session focus.
Step 3: Pay
The Pay step shows the order summary and total, then takes a card payment through a secure Stripe form. One booking, however many sessions or hours it covers, is one payment and one receipt. The page also states the two rules that apply to every booking: sessions are non-refundable, and a confirmed session can be moved to another time with the same tutor only while it is still far enough away.
After paying
A confirmed booking appears on the 1-on-1 Tutoring page as the next session, with a confirmation email for every session booked, each with its own calendar file to add to a phone or computer calendar.
