A trial is an ordinary class, not a demonstration. Your child joins the group for the whole session, works through the same material with the same teacher, and leaves with the same booklet. Nothing is expected of you on the day beyond getting them there.
Where to find the session
Sign in and your classroom page opens on Upcoming. The trial sits there as a card marked Free trial, with the class name, the time and the venue, and your child's name and year group underneath. If the class has a booklet for that session, a Booklet button appears on the card, and your child can read, annotate, print or download it exactly as an enrolled student would.
In person at Parramatta
Arrive a few minutes early so your child can settle before the class starts. Bring whatever they need to be comfortable, such as a water bottle and healthy snacks. We provide everything else, including the booklet and any paper they need.
Online
An online trial runs live on video. Your child needs a quiet spot and a device with a working camera and microphone, and should sign in a few minutes early. See Joining an online trial class for the joining steps.
After the class
The teacher marks the roll as usual, and that is what tells us your child came. It is also what decides which follow up email you get the next day, so if the roll looks wrong to you, reply to that email and we will correct it. If plans change
You can cancel from the same card up until the session starts, and if you only want a different date it is better to ask us to move it than to cancel. Both are covered in Cancelling a trial booking and Moving a trial to another date.
