An online trial runs live on video with the teacher and the rest of the class. You join it from your classroom page, or from the button in the trial emails, and there is nothing to install.
What your child needs
- A quiet spot where they can talk without disturbing anyone.
- A device with a working camera and microphone, so the teacher can see and hear your child.
- A few minutes in hand, so joining is not a scramble.
How to join
Your confirmation email shows the venue as Online (live class) and carries a join button for the class as well as a button that opens your classroom page. The classroom link signs you in on the way, so you do not have to remember a password on the day. The reminder email the day before carries the same buttons.
In your account, the trial sits on the classroom page under Upcoming with a Join Online Class button. The button lights up shortly before the class starts and stays lit until it ends, which is the easiest way to be sure you are joining the right session.
The waiting room
When your child clicks through, the teacher lets them in from the waiting room. That is normal, not an error. If nothing happens for a minute or two, stay on the screen rather than rejoining repeatedly, because each rejoin puts them back at the end of the queue.
If there is no join button
Open your classroom page and look at the session card itself, which always carries the current link. If the card has no button at all, reply to your confirmation email and we will send you the joining details. Do not share a joining link outside your family, since it opens a live class of children.
If the class runs in person instead
Classes at our Parramatta centre have no join button, by design. What happens on trial day covers what to bring.
