Marking your own homework

Where to find it
Dashboard > Homework > Mark now Open it

Once a homework upload has been assembled, the student marks it themselves against the worked answers. Open it with Mark now from the Classroom page or the Homework page. The answers are only reachable this way, so the work has to be handed in first.

The page

The worked answers fill the left side, with page controls and zoom. The right side is the Self-mark panel: a numbered button for every question, running totals, a notes box and the finish button.

Marking a question

Tap a question number once for correct, again for wrong, again for got stuck, and once more to clear it. The four totals above the grid are Correct, Wrong, Got stuck and Blank, and there is a Mark all correct shortcut for a clean run. Marks save as you go.

Got stuck is for a question the student genuinely could not do. It still counts as marked, so it does not cost any XP, but every teacher view and report treats it as incorrect. It is honest, not a way to skip a question, and a student who uses it heavily is exactly who the teacher wants to spot.

Notes for your teacher

Under the grid is Notes for your teacher. Use it to say what was tricky or to ask about a question. The teacher reads it beside the marked work. It is the one place a student writes back about a piece of homework.

Finishing

Select Finish & earn XP when every question has been marked. The XP is added then, at the rate fixed when the work was uploaded, so marking a little later does not reduce it. The button then reads Finished and the page becomes a record: the same link reopens it as Review marks, and the homework counts as complete once any tests set for that lesson are done too.

If there are no questions

A lesson set up without a question count shows no grid. The notes box still works, and there is nothing to mark.
