The review page has drawing tools, so a question can be worked through on screen the way it would be on paper. Press Annotate on the bottom bar of the review page and a toolbar appears.
The tools
- Pen, for working out and arrows. Six colours and three thicknesses.
- Highlighter, for marking the words in a passage that carry the answer. Six colours and three thicknesses.
- Text, for typing a note rather than writing it. Three colours.
- Eraser, which removes whatever it touches.
- Hand, for scrolling a long passage without drawing on it.
- Undo and Redo.
- Clear question and Clear all.
- Exit, which puts the tools away and leaves the marks in place.
Text boxes
Choose Text and tap where the note should go. The box stretches to the edge of the column, so long notes wrap by themselves rather than running off the page. Press Enter for a new line, and press Escape to finish the note. Maths typed between dollar signs is laid out properly once the box is closed, so a fraction or an index reads as it would in the paper.
Where the marks go
Everything is saved against that attempt, question by question, so the marks are still there when the paper is opened again days later. They are private to the attempt and are not part of the score.
Teachers drawing alongside
A teacher can open the same attempt and annotate it while your child watches, with their marks appearing live. Your child keeps their own pen while that happens, and neither side can rub out the other's work.
